Noussair Mazraoui

Mazraoui arrived at Manchester United in a double deal with Matthijs de Ligt worth a reported £60 million in total, a move that only went through once Aaron Wan-Bissaka left for West Ham United for £15 million.

His path to that point ran through the Ajax academy, which he joined in 2006 after starting out at AVV Alphen and Alphense Boys. He made his debut for Jong Ajax in August 2016 and went on to score 12 goals in 56 appearances for the reserve side before stepping up to the first team in February 2018. At Ajax he won three Eredivisie titles and two KNVB Cups, and was named the club's Talent of the Year for the 2018–19 season. A free transfer took him to Bayern Munich in 2022, where he won the Bundesliga and the DFL-Supercup in his first season in Germany.

His time in Munich was interrupted in January 2023, when he was ruled out for six to eight weeks with pericarditis following a COVID-19 infection. In November 2024, at Manchester United, he declined to wear a rainbow warm-up jacket before a match on religious grounds, and the club dropped the plan for that fixture altogether.

Mazraoui has represented Morocco at senior level since making his debut in a 3–0 win over Malawi in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in September 2018. He has since earned 51 caps and scored twice for the national side.
