Oscar Thorn

Oscar Thorn came through Arsenal's academy as a boy before non-league spells at Billericay Town and Bowers & Pitsea took him back into the professional pyramid with Norwich City in 2020. He signed his first professional contract with the Canaries the following year, but his path to regular football ran through Colchester United, where he moved permanently in January 2023.

Two loans away from Colchester followed, at Bath City and then Chelmsford City, before Thorn established himself back at Layer Road. His full EFL debut for the club came against Chesterfield in October 2024, a 1-1 draw in which he started and set up a goal. Across that first spell in Colchester colours he made 30 league appearances, and while goals have not come — he remains without one in senior league football — he has kept a habit of setting them up for others.

In August 2025 Lincoln City paid an undisclosed fee to sign him on a four-year contract, handing him the number 11 shirt. His time there was brief on the pitch, just three League One appearances, but the club won the League One title and went up.

A year on, in August 2026, he returned to Colchester on a season-long loan, back in his familiar number 27. The early signs echo his first spell: an assist against Accrington Stanley in a 2-2 draw, a start in the EFL Cup defeat to Southampton, and a continued run of created chances rather than goals of his own. He has provided three assists in seven appearances since returning.
