About the player
Okan Erdoğan's 100th appearance for İstanbulspor was marked with a plaque from the club president.
He grew up in Bremen and went through several youth sides in northern Germany: SC Weyhe, Blumenthaler SV and JFV Nordwest. He also spent time in the Galatasaray youth system. His senior football began in the German lower leagues with VfB Oldenburg, and in 2019 he moved on a free transfer to Preußen Münster, where he stayed until 2021.
The move to Turkey came in August 2021, and İstanbulspor is where his career took shape. He played in the Süper Lig in 2022–23 and 2023–24, making 30 appearances in the first of those seasons and 31 in the second. Those two campaigns make up the top-flight part of his record, and they are the basis of the 100-match milestone the club recognised.
In August 2025 Erdoğan left İstanbulspor for Sivasspor on a permanent deal, signing a contract that runs until 30 June 2028. Sivasspor were playing in the 1. Lig, the second tier, in 2025–26, so the move took him from the Süper Lig, where he had spent two seasons, to a club aiming to work its way back up.
He has not yet played for the Turkey national side or at youth level.
