Oliver Scarles

Oliver Scarles made his first-team debut at 16 years and 326 days, on 3 November 2022 against FCSB in the UEFA Europa Conference League.

Scarles came through the academy in east London, which he joined at Under-8 level in 2013. A spell at Chelsea's academy from 2014 to 2017 was the only break before he returned to West Ham. He signed his first professional contract on his 17th birthday, 12 December 2022.

The youth honours came in the 2022–23 season, when the Under-18s won both the Under-18 Premier League South and the FA Youth Cup. Scarles started both legs of the Youth Cup final and set up two goals in the 5–1 win over Arsenal.

He made his league debut in December 2024, two years after his first senior appearance. That October he had signed an extension that runs to June 2028.

Scarles has played for England at youth level from Under-16 onwards: two caps at Under-16, four at Under-17, three at Under-18 and two so far at Under-20. He has not yet been capped by the senior side.
