He marked his first outing for Hoffenheim's first team, a pre-season friendly against SV Elversberg, with a goal in the 87th minute as the German side won 5–2.

First-team football at Hoffenheim itself has yet to follow, and instead Benjamin was sent to Austria to get regular minutes. His loan at SCR Altach brought seven Austrian Bundesliga appearances, starting with his debut against FC Blau-Weiß Linz, along with two outings for the club's second team, though a goal has so far eluded him at that level.

It is with Nigeria's youth side that Benjamin has left his clearest mark to date. He was part of the Flying Eagles squad at the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, playing five matches as the team took bronze. His most notable contribution came from the penalty spot, converting in the shootout against Senegal in the semi-final, and he was noted within the squad for his physical presence up front.

Right-footed and already 182cm tall as a teenager, Benjamin's path so far has been one of staged progression: a Nigerian academy, a German top-flight club's youth ranks, and now Austrian football to sharpen him for senior football back at Hoffenheim.
