Paul Wanner

Paul Wanner joined FC Bayern Munich's academy in 2018 and made his professional debut for the club in January 2022 at the age of 16, becoming the youngest player in the club's history to appear in both the Bundesliga and the Champions League. He went on to make six Bundesliga appearances and two in the Champions League for Bayern between 2022 and 2024, alongside eight games for the club's reserve side, without scoring a goal at senior level for the first team.

Loan spells shaped much of his development. At SV Elversberg in the 2. Bundesliga, he made 28 appearances and scored six goals. A subsequent loan took him to 1. FC Heidenheim, where he made around 29 to 30 Bundesliga appearances, scored three goals, and added another in the DFB-Pokal against FC 08 Villingen. During that spell, in August 2024, he became the youngest player to score a penalty in Bundesliga history.

In August 2025, Wanner's move to PSV Eindhoven became permanent, in a deal worth around €15 million and a contract running until 2030; Bayern Munich retained a buy-back clause. Wearing the number 10 shirt, he helped PSV win the 2025–26 Eredivisie title, secured on 4 April 2026.

Internationally, Wanner came through Germany's youth ranks from under-17 to under-21 level, reaching the final of the 2025 UEFA European Under-21 Championship with Germany. He switched his allegiance to Austria in March 2026 and made his senior debut for his country of birth on 27 March 2026, in a 5–1 friendly win over Ghana. He was later included in Austria's squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
