About the player
Rikke Marie Madsen has moved through more clubs and leagues than most players her age manage in a full career, from Varde IF through Norway, Spain, the United States and England before arriving at HB Køge. It was in the United States that she picked up an NWSL Cup winner's medal in 2023, having already won the Norwegian Championship with Vålerenga in 2020.
Madsen made her senior debut for Denmark in 2019 and has since won 33 caps, scoring against Georgia in a 14–0 win during Euro 2022 qualifying. She has been part of Denmark's squads at Euro 2022, the 2023 World Cup and Euro 2025, adding to a run of youth caps that took her through the U16, U17, U19 and U23 age groups.
At HB Køge she wears number 17 and operates across midfield and the forward line, a dual role reflected in the different listings of her position on club and international records. Her return to Danish football in 2025 followed a period abroad that had taken her as far afield as the NWSL and the Women's Super League with Everton.
