Raphael Gregório Guzzo

Guzzo was born in São Paulo, coming through the Benfica academy. Eligible for Brazil, he chose to represent Portugal instead, and as a youth international he reached the final of the 2014 UEFA European Under-19 Championship and scored the opening goal for Portugal's under-20s against New Zealand at the World Cup the following year.

His club path since leaving Benfica B has rarely stood still. Loan spells at Chaves and Tondela gave him regular football, and a stretch in Spain with Reus Deportiu was followed by a return to Portugal and a permanent move back to Chaves. A brief run in Brazil with Goiás and a spell in Azerbaijan with Neftçi PFK followed before he came back to Chaves for a third spell and then joined Marítimo in the summer of 2025.

At Marítimo, Guzzo has quickly become a key figure in midfield. He was instrumental as the club won the Liga Portugal 2 title in the 2025–26 season and secured promotion back to the top division, with the team leading the league from the 15th matchday onward. He has not yet won a senior cap for Portugal, though his performances at youth level, including a Segunda Liga Young Player of the Month award while at Chaves, marked him out early as one to watch.
