His path to Europe was not straightforward. After establishing himself at Jamaican club Cavalier FC, where he made 90 league appearances and scored 6 goals, King sought experience elsewhere. In April 2023, he went on a free loan to Icelandic side ÍBV. The move yielded 17 appearances and 2 goals in the Besta deild karla before he returned to Cavalier in January 2024. The return proved fruitful, as he helped secure three Jamaica Premier League titles and the CONCACAF Caribbean Cup in 2024.

St Mirren seized the opportunity on 17 June 2025, signing the defender on a free transfer on a two-year deal until 2027. The option to extend for a further 12 months came quickly, as King settled into the squad. He has made over 32 league appearances and scored 2 goals since joining. His integration was swift, culminating in a start for St Mirren in the Scottish League Cup final against Celtic in December 2025.

Internationally, King represents Jamaica. While some sources cite a debut in January 2020, statistical records indicate his senior career began in 2022. As of March 2026, he has earned 40 caps and scored 1 goal, which he netted on 28 May 2025 against Trinidad and Tobago in the 2025 Unity Cup. His international profile has risen steadily, earning him a place in the CONCACAF Caribbean Cup Best XI in 2024. He was subsequently part of Jamaica’s squad for the 2024 Copa América and the 2025 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
