About the player
Sami Ouaissa moved from Passart-VKC into Roda JC's academy as a boy before making his senior debut for the club in August 2022. In February 2024, NEC Nijmegen signed him for an undisclosed fee — but sent him straight back to Roda JC on loan for the rest of that season, where he made eight appearances before the move to NEC became permanent that summer.
He wore the number 25 shirt and put together a first full Eredivisie campaign in 2024–25 with 34 appearances, seven goals and two assists. He played 32 league matches in 2025–26 and contributed six goals and six assists. NEC reached the KNVB Cup final in both those seasons without winning the trophy.
His form drew interest from clubs outside the Netherlands, with Fenerbahçe, Wolfsburg and Stuttgart all reportedly keeping tabs on him. In the end he stayed in the Eredivisie: in September 2026 he moved to PSV Eindhoven for a reported fee of nine million euros, signing a five-year contract and switching to the number 11 shirt. The move came a little more than two years after he first left Roda JC.
