Simone Stroscio

Simone Stroscio grew up in the Grasshopper Club Zürich academy, having arrived from FC Effretikon back in 2011, at just eight years old. He worked his way through the club's youth sides, from the U18 team to the U21 reserves, before joining the senior squad in the summer of 2021 and making his first-team debut in May 2022.

The midfielder, who can also fill in across the back line, spent the 2022–23 and 2023–24 seasons out on loan at FC Schaffhausen. What began as a short-term move to finish out the 2022–23 campaign was extended for the full following season, and Stroscio repaid the faith with 35 appearances in all competitions for Schaffhausen in 2023–24, scoring three goals in the Challenge League along the way.

He returned to Grasshoppers when the loan ended, and the switch back to Zürich has worked out well: by the 2025–26 season, Stroscio had established himself as a regular starter and was handed the captain's armband.

On the international stage, Stroscio's involvement has so far been limited to the Switzerland U20 side, for whom he earned three caps in 2022, appearing in friendlies against Poland, Bosnia-Herzegovina U21 and Italy U20.
