Seymour Fünger

Seymour Fünger came through Bayer Leverkusen's academy, playing for the B- and A-Juniors and appearing in the UEFA Youth League before leaving the club in 2021. His senior career began at SC Fortuna Köln, where he made 19 Regionalliga West appearances in his first spell. A free transfer took him to Hallescher FC, where he made nine appearances and scored once in the 3. Liga; his time there included winning the Saxony-Anhalt Cup, with the club beating Einheit Wernigerode 1-0 in the final. He then moved to Fortuna Düsseldorf II, making 17 appearances in the Regionalliga West, and was named in the first team's 2. Bundesliga matchday squad in December 2023 without getting onto the pitch.

Fünger returned to Fortuna Köln in June 2024, signing a contract until 2027. His second spell at the club has not been without setbacks. In September 2024 he was at fault for an equaliser in a 1-3 defeat to Wuppertaler SV, and an ankle injury later that season limited his playing time. Still, the club showed its trust in him: when regular captain Dominik Ernst fell ill in October 2024, Fünger was appointed interim captain. He has made 49 league appearances across his second stint at Fortuna Köln, scoring twice.

All of his moves as a senior have come on free transfers, from Fortuna Köln to Halle, from Halle to Düsseldorf, and back to Köln again.
