Timofey Mitrov

Timofey Mitrov spent the 2025/26 season as Shinnik Yaroslavl's undisputed number one, starting all 34 league matches, keeping 16 clean sheets and conceding 28 goals — a run that earned him sixth place in the voting for the FNL Goalkeeper of the Season award.

A product of the Lokomotiv Moscow academy, Mitrov spent two years with Lokomotiv-2 before making his senior debut for Shinnik on loan in July 2024. He kept his place through that first season, making ten league and two cup appearances, and his form persuaded Shinnik to sign him on a permanent two-year deal in the summer of 2025. Across his full spell at the club he made around 57 appearances and recorded 23 clean sheets, along with one assist.

The season was not without setbacks. Mitrov was at fault for significant errors in a defeat to Tyumen, and was criticised after a defensive mix-up led to a goal conceded against Rodina.

In September 2026, Lokomotiv Moscow triggered a buy-back option to bring Mitrov back to the club, and he signed a new contract running until the summer of 2031. He was immediately loaned out again, this time to FC Sochi for the 2026/27 season, a move that does not include an option to buy. He has made two league appearances for his new club so far.

At international level, Mitrov has represented Russia at youth level, debuting for the under-21s in a friendly win over Vietnam in September 2024, and he has also featured for the under-19 side. He has yet to be called up to the senior national team.
