Ulises Jimenez

Ulises Giménez grew up playing for San Luis in his native José C Paz before a move to Los Latinos, and in 2012 a trial earned him a place in River Plate's youth academy. He progressed through the club's ranks, appearing for the reserve side in 2022 and again in 2025, and signed his first professional contract with River Plate in early 2023.

Internationally, Giménez built a strong record with Argentina's youth sides, earning 22 caps for the under-17 national team between 2022 and 2023 without scoring. He captained that side to third place at the South American U-17 Championship in 2023, a run that yielded a bronze medal, and went on to take part in the FIFA U-17 World Cup the same year. He has not featured for Argentina's senior national team.

At club level, his path to first-team football has run through loan spells rather than a straight breakthrough. He spent time on loan at Defensa y Justicia in 2024 but did not make an official league appearance before that loan ended. His senior debut for River Plate finally came in 2025. He was then loaned out again, joining Sarmiento in August 2026, where he has made one appearance so far. He wears the number 36 shirt and operates as a right-back or central defender, a versatility that has followed him through his development at River Plate.
