About the player
Victor Osimhen started out at the Ultimate Strikers Academy in Lagos, where scouts first noticed him before he moved to Europe.
At Napoli, Osimhen became the focal point of the club's title-winning side. In the 2022–23 season he finished as Serie A's top scorer with 26 goals, was named the league's Player of the Year and Best Striker.
His move to Galatasaray in September 2024 was structured as a "dry loan", with no fee paid but the Turkish club covering his wages. Galatasaray made the deal permanent the following July, paying €75 million in a mix of upfront and deferred fees.
With Nigeria, Osimhen's international story began early: he was the Golden Boot winner with 10 goals as the Super Eagles' U-17 side won the 2015 World Cup.
