Al Shabab

Riyadh, the Saudi capital, knows Al-Shabab as the White Lion — Al-Layth Al-Abyad in Arabic — a club that has played in black and white since 1977. Orange joined the kit only for the 2011/12 season, the same year Al-Shabab took its sixth Saudi Pro League title.

That sixth title closed a cycle that opened in 1990, when the club won three league championships in a row before adding two more in 2003 and 2005. Domestically Al-Shabab has also won the Crown Prince's Cup three times and the King's Cup three times, the last of those in 2014, the same year it lifted the Saudi Super Cup. Further afield, the club took the Asian Cup Winners' Cup in 2001, the Arab Club Champions Cup twice, in 1992 and 1999, and the Gulf Club Champions Cup in 1993 and 1994.

Home games are played at the SHG Arena, a ground that carried the name Prince Khalid bin Sultan Stadium for most of Al-Shabab's history before a 2025 sponsorship agreement with Syndicate Holding Group put its current name up. A renovation finished in 2023 raised capacity from 10,000 to 15,000.

The club itself dates to 4 June 1947, when it was founded in Riyadh as Shabab Al-Riyadh.
