Al Kholood

The pitch at Al-Hazem Club Stadium in Ar Rass belongs, on paper, to the home side's landlord. Al-Kholood have never built a ground of their own that meets league requirements, playing in front of a capacity variously put at 8,000 or, by some ticketing counts, closer to 5,100. Meetings are known locally as the Derby of Ar Rass.

The club now known as Al-Kholood traces back to a side called Al-Sha'ab in 1935, then Al-Wehda, before the name changed in 1970 to Al-Kholood — Arabic for "eternity". It has stayed in Ar Rass ever since, playing in white, red and green, and known to supporters as Fakhr Ar Rass, the Pride of Ar Rass.

Silverware has been thin. The best the club managed in the lower divisions was a second-place finish in the Second Division in 2020/21. That changed in 2025/26, when Al-Kholood reached the final of the King's Cup and lost 2-1 to Al-Hilal.

The run coincided with a change of ownership. In July 2025, Al-Kholood became the first Saudi club to be fully bought out by a foreign investment group. Des Buckingham took over as head coach for 2025/26, succeeding Paulo Duarte, and built a squad around captain William Troost-Ekong, alongside forward Ramiro Enrique and midfielder John Buckley.

Whatever comes of the new ownership, the club still plays its home games in a stadium that carries another team's name.
