Bonner SC

The biggest trophy at Bonner SC came from the women's team, who won the German championship in 1975, ten years after the club was formed from a merger of Bonner FV and Tura Bonn.

Having won the Mittelrheinliga in 1975–76, they spent 1976–77 in the 2. Bundesliga Nord, the highest level they have reached. They have won the Mittelrheinliga nine times in all, most recently in 2024–25. The NRW-Liga title in 2008–09 sits between those two peaks.

The club's name travelled furthest in 1999. Bonner SC signed the entire Cuba national team for the rest of the season, with Fidel Castro's approval. It was the first time Cuban players had played abroad during his rule.

The nearest rival is FC Viktoria Köln, and the two have met in the Middle Rhine Cup final twice. Viktoria won the rematch 4-1 in 2022.

Blue and red come from the old coat of arms of Bonn. The same coat of arms gives the club its nickname, the Rheinlöwen, after the Bonn lion on the crest.

Among the international players who have worn the shirt is Albert Bunjaku, who went on to represent Kosovo and Switzerland.
