Brøndby go into this season as reigning champions of nothing — the last title came in 2021. The 2021 championship was the eleventh.

The club exists because two villages on Copenhagen's western edge ran out of grass. The mayor, Kjeld Rasmussen, pushed the two together in December 1964. That merger is still the thing the nickname points at: the Boys from Vestegnen .

Brøndby has kept an unusual relationship with money since. In 1987 it became the second football club anywhere to have its shares listed on a stock exchange, following Tottenham. The listing outlasted several eras of Danish football.

Brøndby Stadion holds 28,000, of whom 23,400 sit.

The most recent silverware is the 2018 Danish Cup, the seventh.
