Busko-zdroj

AKS 1947 Busko-Zdrój spent twenty years away from the third tier of Polish football before getting back there. Promotion came in the 2025/2026 season, when the club won the IV Liga (Świętokrzyska) group, repeating a feat it had first managed in 2004/2005 after taking the V Liga a year earlier.

The name on the badge dates to 1947, when the side formed by Stanisław Sambor two years earlier on a field at ulica Langiewicza was registered with the Kielce district of the Polish Football Association. It played under other names along the way — Związkowiec in the early 1950s, later Ogniwo and Sparta — before a financial collapse in 2007 forced a fresh start as Młodzieżowy Klub Sportowy "Zdrój." The club has run as AKS 1947 Busko-Zdrój since.

Antoni Hermanowicz, who had played for Piast Gliwice and later coached Korona Kielce, took charge during that 2005–2007 III Liga spell before the drop. The volleyball section under the same roof gave Polish sport a bigger name: Ireneusz Mazur started coaching there before going on to a career in the national volleyball setup.

The furthest the club has gone in the Polish Cup came off the back of a regional final defeat to Granat Skarżysko-Kamienna in 1984: the runners-up spot still carried a place in the following season's national draw, where Busko-Zdrój beat Górnik Będzin on penalties before Piast Gliwice ended the run 3-0 in the second round.

Promotion puts the club back in range of Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship sides it has not met in years.
