Chênois

In the 1993–94 Swiss Cup, Chênois beat FC Sion in the round of 16 and went out to FC Zürich in the next tie. It came from a club that has never won a major national honour.

Chênois began as FC Thônex, a village side from the Geneva suburbs, and took its present name in 1924. The Thônex tag stayed in the municipality and the ground moved a few hundred metres over the border into Chêne-Bourg, at the Stade des Trois-Chêne. Its capacity was once quoted at 8,000, but safety work has cut what can be used today to roughly 2,600. The Intertoto Cup brought European football in 1977 and again in 1979, a long time before the current spell in the 1. Liga Classic, the fourth tier. The men came up to that level in 2015 by winning the 2. Liga Interregional. Meyrin FC are the neighbours they measure themselves against, in what both sides call the derby genevois.

The bigger trophies have gone to the women's section, which was founded in 1974. It became independent in 2012 as FF Chênois Genève, and in 2017 it merged with Servette FC to form Servette FC Chênois Féminin. That side has won the Swiss Women's Super League three times, in 2021, 2024 and 2026, and the Swiss Women's Cup three times, in 2023, 2024 and 2026.

The men, in red and white, still play in the same suburb where a village team was first put together in 1907.
