CO Médenine

Two second-division titles, in 1997 and 2001, opened the door to Ligue I both times, and Médenine went up again in 2017 after beating AS La Marsa 2–0 in a playoff on 3 June. In the third tier the club has been champion five times over, in 1962, 1972, 1982, 1992–93 and 2015–16.

Founded on 5 February 1954 by a Frenchman named Godal under the name Olympique de Médenine, the club took its present colours of yellow and black and, with them, the nickname Les Aiglons. Béchir Ben Amor took charge in 1995 and steered the side to that first promotion two years later; Kamel Chebli, who had played for Tunisia at the 1978 World Cup, managed the club from 2001 to 2002.

Staying up has often been the harder task. In 2020–21 the club avoided the drop only by finishing third in the relegation playoff group, a stretch that included a goalless draw with Stade Tunisien and a 2–1 defeat to JS Kairouanaise. The following season brought a run to the last 16 of the Tunisian Cup.

The academy has sent players further than the first team itself usually travels. Achraf Jemaa left in August 2015 for Espérance de Tunis and later played in France for Lens, while goalkeeper Mouhib Chamakh, who debuted at 16, went on to Club Africain and a place in Tunisia's squad for the 2026 World Cup.
