Cray Valley PM

St. Mary Cray Paper Mills kept a football team for its workers, and that team became Cray Valley. The works side was formed in 1919, and for six decades the mill and the club were one enterprise. When the mills closed in 1981, the club took the name Cray Valley Paper Mills, the same year the employer disappeared. The name stayed, later trimmed to Cray Valley (PM).

Without a works ground to return to, the club moved from place to place. That lasted until 1998, when it settled in Eltham, in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. The Arctic Stadium, also called the Mayne Arena, sits within Badgers Sports on Middle Park Avenue. The club plays in all blue, with light grey for the goalkeepers, and the supporters call the side The Millers, a nickname that outlived the mill.

The climb came in the 2000s. The South East Counties Football League followed in 2019.

In 2021/22 Cray Valley reached the first round proper of the FA Cup for the first time. In 2024 the club won the Isthmian League South East Division. Local rivalry runs with Cray Wanderers in the Cray Derby, and with Dartford in the Kent derby.

The ground's capacity is reported anywhere between 1,000 and 3,500.
