The club has existed since January 1, 1920. After remaining in the Bezirksliga from the 1977/78 season until 1983, the club has climbed the pyramid to reach the Bayernliga Süd, the fifth tier of German football.
In the 2024/25 season, FC Deisenhofen reached the Round of 16 in the Bayerischer Toto-Pokal. They defeated SV Wacker Burghausen, a team from the Regionalliga, 7:6 on penalties after extra time.
The club plays its home matches at Sportplatz Deisenhofen, also known as Hauptplatz Deisenhofen. Located at Am Sportplatz 22, the ground holds 2,000 spectators on natural grass. There are no floodlights and no running track surrounding the pitch, a setup that keeps the focus entirely on the game rather than the spectacle.
