In such places, a football club is not merely an entertainment option; it is the anchor for the community. Érdi VSE has held that position since 1921, when residents gathered to form a sports association that would outlast political shifts and economic downturns. They wore green and white, colours that have meant little to outsiders but everything to those who remember the matches played in the driving rain on Ercsi úti Pálya.

The ground itself is unassuming, holding just 3,500 spectators. Instead, it arrived in the form of persistence within the NB III, the Hungarian third division. They picked up four league titles over the decades, but it was the 2019–20 campaign that defined their modern identity.

They closed the game out on the pitch but stayed put in the standings.

There are no fierce rivals in Érd, only one team representing the town.
