Erpeldange

Stade An Der Trell holds a thousand people, no more, at Gruefwee in Erpeldange-sur-Sûre — a ground that has spent most of its life climbing out of the lower divisions rather than defending a place among the elite. FC 72, as everyone here calls it, took its name from the year it formed, 1972, after the previous local side, Blue Boys Erpeldange-Ettelbruck, had folded two decades earlier.

The record since reads as a staircase: Division 4 in 1975, Division 3 in 1988, Division 2 twice, in 1999 and 2002, and Division 1 in 2017.

Etzella Ettelbruck, the long-standing rival, has also been a partner at times — the two shared a ground between 1982 and 1984, and since 2001 have run a joint youth setup. US Feulen and Jeunesse Gilsdorf complete the list of local rivalries.
