Nikeli took the field for the first time on 8 April 1974. In August 2022 it made the connection explicit, renaming itself FC Feronikeli 74 to mark the year it began.
The trophies came in a short, dense run. Feronikeli won the Kosovo Superliga in 2014–15, 2015–16 and 2018–19, and took the Kosovo Cup in the same period. Afrim Tovërlani was in charge for both Superliga-winning campaigns of that decade.
The ground carries its own weight. Stadiumi Rexhep Rexhepi is named after a former club captain killed by Serbian forces in 1999, and Feronikeli have played every home match since under that name.
The 2024–25 season ended in relegation, Feronikeli finishing tenth.
