Gedania Gdansk

In 1939 the war took the men who ran the club. Its president, Henryk Kopecki, and vice-presidents Konrad Zdrojewski and Władysław Dębowski were executed, 75 members died in concentration camps, and Gedania was dissolved. It had been founded on 15 August 1922 as Sportklub "Gedania" e.V. in Danzig, in the Free City of Danzig, and five years before the dissolution it had won that city's championship, in 1933–34.

The club came back on 16 May 1945 as Klub Sportowy "Gedania". In September 1946 it merged with Kolejowy Klub Sportowy "Bałtyk" and played as KKS Gedania for sixty years. The regional Class A titles of 1946, 1950 and 1960 belong to that period. It is the oldest Polish football club still operating in Gdańsk.

The present club dates from 2006. Internal conflicts that year split the old one, and the football section left to form Gdański Klub Sportowy "Gedania 1922", registered on 11 September 2006. Some of its recent seasons have been uneven. It finished 16th in III Liga Group II in 2023/24 and went down, then won the IV Liga Pomorska in 2024/25 at the first attempt and returned to III Liga for 2025/26.

Roman Korynt, later capped 34 times by Poland, played for Gedania in 1949. Czesław Bartolik is remembered as a player and then as manager. Fixtures against Lechia Gdańsk count as the Gdańsk Derby, and the Gedaniarze wear white shirts with red details and blue socks.

Home games are at the Gdańsk Sports and Recreation Complex on Aleja Generała Józefa Hallera, where the capacity is 300.
