Georgia U21

Georgia's under-21 side had the lowest UEFA rating of any team at the 2023 European Under-21 Championship and finished top of Group A without losing a match, playing as co-hosts alongside Romania. In the quarter-final at the Boris Paichadze Dinamo Arena, a record crowd of 44,338 watched them draw 1–1 with Israel after extra time, only to go out 4–3 on penalties.

The team traces back to the break-up of the Soviet Union: Georgia's under-21 players competed under the Soviet banner through the 1992 European Under-21 Championship, then split off as an independent side. Their first match as Georgia came on 27 May 1994, a 3–0 win over Moldova in Tbilisi in qualifying for the 1996 tournament — the same Moldova side that remains their most regular opponent.

They carry the nickname Jvarosnebi, the Crusaders, borrowed from the senior national team, along with its white home and black away colours. The side has no ground of its own, moving between Erovnuli Liga stadiums in Tbilisi, Batumi and Kutaisi, with the Dinamo Arena and the Mikheil Meskhi Stadium used most often.

Ramaz Svanadze has coached the team since January 2021, and under him the 2023 run proved not to be a one-off: Georgia reached the 2025 Championship too, beating Croatia in the play-offs on penalties, 7–6, after the tie finished 3–3 on aggregate. The age group has fed the senior team directly — Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Giorgi Mamardashvili both came through it before moving to Napoli and Valencia.

Without a fixed rival of its own, the side's edge still comes from the Israel game — a match settled only on penalties.
