Grenada

The national team carries the nickname the Spice Boyz. The Grenada Football Association has organised the game there since 1924, though the national side did not take the field until October 1934, against British Guiana.

Grenada has never reached a FIFA World Cup, and for years its clearest measure of success came closer to home, in the Windward Islands Tournament against Saint Lucia and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. It has won that competition more than a dozen times, from the early 1960s through to 2017, a record no neighbour in the group can match. Against the wider Caribbean, the return has been thinner but not empty: runner-up finishes in the Caribbean Cup in 1989, behind Trinidad and Tobago, and again in 2008, behind Jamaica.

The name most attached to Grenadian football abroad belongs to Jason Roberts, who left the island to build a career in England, winning the Championship with both Wigan Athletic and Reading before being appointed MBE, while wearing only 15 caps for the country of his birth. At home, the figure supporters measure others against is Ricky Charles, whose 37 goals in 71 appearances still stand as the national record.

Three appearances at the CONCACAF Gold Cup, in 2009, 2011 and 2021, brought Grenada as far as the group stage each time, and a run through the Nations League pushed the side into League A for the 2022–23 season. The team's matches are played at the Kirani James Athletic Stadium in St. George's, named for the island's Olympic sprinter, with room for around 8,000 spectators watching from the stands above the harbour town.
