HamKam

The 2003 title in the 1. divisjon came at the end of a run. Ståle Solbakken had played for HamKam through the early 1990s; when he came back to Hamar as coach in 2003, he took them up at the first attempt. He stayed until 2005. The second divisjon title, in 2021, put the club back in the Eliteserien for a ninth time.

Between those promotions sits a long argument with money. A new stand went up in 1984, paid for with a loan. By 1994 the municipality had bought the ground outright. That did not settle it: in 2010 HamKam filed for bankruptcy.

The club that carried those debts had already changed its name twice. It started out as Freidig in 1918, became Briskebyen Fotballag in 1927, and took the name Hamarkameratene in 1946 after merging with the local workers' sports club. Home is still Briskeby Stadion, holding 8,068.

Blue and white are the registered colours, but the green shorts worn at home gave the side its oldest nickname — Grønnbuksene, the green trousers. Most people in Hamar just say Kamma.

The Hedmark derby against Kongsvinger IL is the fixture.

Nothing in the trophy room comes from the top flight or the NM Cupen.
