Lossiemouth

Lossiemouth have held their place in the Highland League for nearly eighty years. The town did not wait for the war to end before deciding it needed a team; on 12 October 1945, a public meeting secured the club’s existence, and by the following autumn they were taking to the grass at Grant Park. The nickname 'The Coasters' came not from the boardroom but from a competition among primary school children.

The club won its first major silverware in 1947, beating Fraserburgh in the Nairn & District Cup. In the mid-1990s, the side threw everything at it, securing a hat-trick of North of Scotland Cups between 1994 and 1997 alongside a Highland League Cup victory over Fraserburgh. Those years defined the era, even if the rest of the record sits quietly. The rivalry with Forres Mechanics remains the only local tension worth noting, a fixture that always feels tighter than the results suggest.

The colours are simple: red for home, blue for away. The badge shows the lighthouse at Covesea Skerries, a reminder that the sea is closer than the league table. Grant Park holds 3,250 people, a modest ground where the stands sit close to the touchline. It is not a cathedral of sport, but it is home. The club does not chase titles that do not exist; it simply turns up, plays the game, and lets the weather decide the rest.
