MFK Bytča

Viktor Pečovský came home to Bytča after a career that took him through the Slovak top flight and onto the national team, thirty-four caps and a place in the squad at Euro 2016.

The climb that mattered was recent. From the V. liga in 2021/2022, Bytča worked its way up a division at a time — IV. liga the following season, then a regional campaign — before winning 3. Liga (Stred) in 2025 and securing promotion to Slovakia's Second League. It is the level the club now plays at, a jump built over three seasons rather than one.

Home games are played at the Mestský štadión Bytča, a 2,000-capacity ground that fits a club still finding its feet outside the lower tiers. The colours are white and blue.

Second-division football is new territory here, and the task now is simply staying there.
