The Mestský štadión in Považská Bystrica holds 1,400 people.

The team that plays there now traces back to 1920, when it started out as ŠK Považská Bystrica. In 1938–39 it won the Slovak league, then finished second the following season and took bronze twice more during the war years.

The season worth pausing over is 1988–89. The club won the 1. SNL for a second time and reached the Slovak Cup final, where Slovan Bratislava beat them 2–1.

The gap lasted three decades. There was a merger with FK Iskra Borčice in 2018. Then, in 2022, the club won the III. liga West and went back up to the 2. liga, 30 years after leaving it.
