Ocean City Nor'easters

Reading United AC has met Ocean City every season since 1997. The fixture predates the club's own name: in 1997 Ocean City still played as the South Jersey Barons, and it took until 2010, after the senior side split away from its youth setup, for the Nor'easters name to appear. The team returned to its own blue and orange.

The closest the club came to a national title was in 1999, as the Barons, when they reached the USISL D-3 Pro League championship game and lost to the Western Mass Pioneers. Division and conference titles have followed more often since — the Northeast Division in 2004, the Mid-Atlantic in 2012 and again in 2022, the Eastern Conference in 2013 and 2016 — but the club's reputation in New Jersey rests as much on the U.S. Open Cup.

Matt Perrella has coached the team since 2023: Tyler Miller moved through the Nor'easters before goalkeeping for Seattle Sounders FC and Charlotte FC, and Graham Zusi played here as an amateur before his career took him to the U.S. national team.
