Slavija

The 2003–04 season brought the first major honour of the modern club, the Republika Srpska league title, and five years later Slavija won the Bosnia and Herzegovina Cup, its most significant trophy, in the same campaign that saw it finish runner-up in the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Before the war, in 1935–36, the old Sarajevo Slavija had already reached a Yugoslav First League runner-up finish, a reminder that the club's best moments have rarely come in consecutive years.

Games against FK Borac Banja Luka are billed as the Derbi Republike Srpske and carry the weight of a fixture between the two clubs a shared political geography has made rivals rather than mere neighbours. It is a newer enmity than the one Slavija knew before the Second World War, when SAŠK Sarajevo was the name that mattered most, but it is the one that fills the 6,000 seats at Stadion Slavija now.
