Slovácko

Michal Kadlec grew up playing for Slovácko, left for a career that took him into the Czech national team, and came back in 2018. He stayed long enough to lift the club's only major trophy, the Czech Cup, in 2022, then retired in 2024.

In the 2021/22 final, the club beat Sparta Praha 3-1, with Petr Reinberk scoring the winning goal and Václav Jurečka also finding the net.

The club's roots go back further than its current name suggests. It began in 1927 as SK Staré Město, in the town next to Uherské Hradiště. The 1. FC Slovácko name only dates to 2004, adopted after FC Synot merged with FC Slovácká Slavia Uherské Hradiště in 2000. Under the Synot name, the club won the Second League in 1999/2000 and reached the top flight for the first time; three years earlier it had already taken the Moravian–Silesian League, the third tier. Coach Karel Jarolím led the side through its strongest run in the following years, taking Slovácko to a Czech Cup final in 2005, though that one ended without the trophy.

Home games are played at the Městský fotbalový stadion Miroslava Valenty. The club wears dark blue and white, and its sharpest rivalry is with Zlín, one leg of the Moravian derby the region also shares with Sigma Olomouc.
