St. Vincent and the Grenadines

Shandel Samuel scored 32 goals in 63 appearances for St. Vincent and the Grenadines between 2001 and 2016, the most by anyone who has played for the national team. Cornelius Stewart, who has played for the side since 2007, has made 76 appearances, more than any other player. He has also scored 25 goals.

Samuel's era came long after the team's first match. St. Vincent played Barbados in 1936 and drew 1-1, and Barbados has remained the main rival since. There is no named derby. Meetings with Grenada and the other Windward Islands sides carry a similar regional edge. The Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation was formed in 1979. It joined the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) in 1986 and FIFA in 1988.

The Caribbean Cup is the tournament that has come closest to giving the team a trophy. St. Vincent reached the final in 1979, 1981 and 1995 and lost each time. The last of those, a 0-5 defeat by Trinidad and Tobago, still earned a place at the 1996 CONCACAF Gold Cup, the only time the team has played in that tournament.

The records from the 1990s run in both directions. In 1992 Mexico beat them 11-0, their heaviest defeat. Three years later they beat Montserrat by the same score, their biggest win.

Oalex Anderson scored 27 goals in 55 appearances and played for Seattle Sounders FC. Rodney Jack scored 24 in 36 between 1992 and 2004.

The Vincy Heat wear yellow shirts and blue shorts and play home matches at Arnos Vale in Kingstown. In November 2025 they drew 1-1 with Jamaica in the CONCACAF Nations League playoffs.
