Sūduva Marijampolė

The three league titles that Sūduva took between 2017 and 2019 came in a run. The last piece of silverware, the Lithuanian Supercup, arrived in 2022.

Football in Marijampolė traces back to a side that has carried the name of the surrounding Sūduva region through several rewrites — Sūduva Kapsukas, Sūduva-Žydrius — before settling. The club dates itself to 1942, and has played under the Sūduva name since 1968.

The first trophy of any weight was the Lithuanian Cup in 2006. A second cup came in 2009, the same year the club reached the Baltic League final and won its first Supercup. Then a long wait, and then three championships one after another. The 2019 season was the one that pulled everything together: the league, the cup and the Supercup in a single year.

Home is the Mantinga Football Arena, a ground that has changed sponsor names more often than the club has changed its own — ARVI Football Arena until 2019, Hikvision Arena for the two seasons after that. Locals mostly call it the Marijampolė Stadium and leave it there.

The fixture that matters most is against DFK Dainava, billed as the South Lithuania derby. There is a shorter trip available too, against Marijampolė City.
