Union Bremen

In 1951, one of the two clubs that would eventually carry the name Union 60 stood as champion of all of Germany. Bremen 1860, founded in 1891, took the national amateur title that year — a peak the club never approached again, and one that belongs to a side that no longer exists under its own name.

Bremen 1860 folded into a merger on 6 March 1998, combining with BBV Union Bremen, founded in 1901, to form FC Union 60 Bremen. The new club took red and black as its colours and settled into the amateur tiers of Bremen football rather than chasing the standing either predecessor had once held.

Home games are played at the Bezirkssportanlage Rollsport-Stadion, a district ground holding around 1,200 spectators — a modest setting even by the standards of Bremen's lower leagues.

The closest Union 60 has come to reviving that old amateur pedigree was the 2010/11 season, when the club won the Landesliga Bremen and earned promotion into the Bremen-Liga. It remains the only league title recorded under the Union 60 name.

A regional cup has stayed out of reach throughout: Union 60 has never won the Bremer Pokal.
