Wilhelmshaven

The Jadestadion holds 7,500, a capacity that has shrunk in step with the club it houses: Wilhelmshaven filled it in the Regionalliga Nord until 2016, then watched the seventh tier from the same stands before working back up to the Oberliga Niedersachsen, the fifth level, by 2025–26.

The name attached to that ground has changed more often than the ground itself. What plays there today traces to a September 1905 foundation, but its honours board carries results won under other names: the Gauliga Weser-Ems, taken in 1943 and 1944 by the predecessor SpVgg Wilhelmshaven, and two Niedersachsenpokal wins, in 2007 and 2010, credited to Sportfreunde Lebenstedt before that club merged into SV Wilhelmshaven in 2002.

The best modern season came in 2005–06, when the Oberliga Nord title sent the club up to the Regionalliga Nord. It did not stay settled there. In the 2010s Wilhelmshaven refused to pay FIFA training compensation over the transfer of Sergio Sagarzazu, took point deductions rather than settle, and went down as a result — a stance German courts later found had been correct, though by then relegation had already done its work.

Daniel Farke wore the shirt from 2002 to 2004, 27 goals in 57 appearances; Lithuanian international Valdas Ivanauskas had a spell up front.

Local rivalry once meant TSR Olympia Wilhelmshaven, close enough that the two clubs tried merging in 1992 under the name Wilhelmshaven 92, then split again; Olympia's football side folded altogether in 2009. What replaced it is the district derby against SSV Jeddeloh.
