Young Buffaloes

Young Buffaloes represent the Eswatini Army, while Green Mamba FC answers to the police.

Founded in 1982, Young Buffaloes carry the nickname the Buffaloes and turn out in maroon and yellow. Their league record is two Eswatini Premier League titles, in 2009–10 and 2019–20, a decade apart. Cup football has offered steadier reward — three straight Ingwenyama Cup wins, in 2017, 2018 and 2019, a run that overlapped with a 2016–17 season in which the club finished runners-up in the league to Mbabane Swallows while still lifting that cup.

Mpendulo "Mpetha" Dlamini, who joined in 2017, is regarded as the club's most decorated player, arriving in time to be part of that cup run. Sicelo Mkhwanazi has been there longer than anyone else on the books, having signed in the 2012–13 season and stayed through the changes around him.

The club's continental exposure has come through the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup, where fixtures against sides such as ZESCO United and Cape Town City FC have tested a squad built mainly around domestic ambitions. What has not followed is any lasting run in those competitions — continental football has stayed a visit rather than a foothold, and a second league title has taken a decade to arrive after the first.
