Ireland A tour of Bangladesh 2020/21

The Ireland A tour of Bangladesh was a bilateral cricket series held in February and March 2021. It featured the Ireland A team (competing under the brand name Ireland Wolves) and the Bangladesh Emerging Team. The tour consisted of one Unofficial Test match, five Unofficial List A matches (ODIs), and one Unofficial T20I. The Test match took place from February 26 to 28, 2021, at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram. Bangladesh Emerging Team won this match by an innings and 23 runs, with Tanvir Islam taking 13 wickets in the match. The ODI series was played between March 5 and March 14, 2021, primarily in Chattogram and Dhaka. The first ODI was abandoned with no result after 30 overs due to a COVID-19 positive test for Irish player Ruhan Pretorius. Bangladesh Emerging Team won the remaining four ODIs, securing the series 4-0. The only T20I was played on March 16, 2021, at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka. Bangladesh Emerging Team won by 30 runs. The tour was designed to provide competitive experience for both squads, with Ireland A gaining exposure to subcontinental conditions and Bangladesh Emerging Team playing against a full Associate nation side. These matches were classified as unofficial internationals, though the Test match held First-Class status and the ODIs/List A matches held their respective domestic classifications. The Ireland Wolves programme, established in 2017, serves as the second-tier international squad for Cricket Ireland, acting as a bridge between domestic cricket and the senior national team. The Bangladesh Emerging Team, first appearing in international competition in 2019 for the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup, is the Bangladesh Cricket Board's U23/high-performance development squad, distinct from the more experienced Bangladesh A team.
