The Nordic T20 Cup, also known as the Nordic T20I Cup, is a regional Twenty20 cricket tournament established in 2023. It operates under the sanctioning of ICC Europe and is organized by the national cricket boards of the participating nations, primarily rotating between Cricket Denmark (Dansk Cricket-Forbund) and Cricket Finland. The competition features the national teams of Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden. It functions as a developmental and competitive platform for these Associate member nations rather than serving as a direct qualifier for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup. The tournament format has varied since its inception. The inaugural 2023 edition, hosted by Denmark, utilized a double round-robin structure resulting in 12 matches, with Denmark securing the title. The 2024 edition, held in Finland, adopted a reduced schedule of seven matches; Denmark entered with an 'A' team, allowing Norway to claim victory. Returning to a full lineup for the 2025 season, Denmark hosted a single round-robin campaign across six matches, ending the year as champions. Hosting duties rotate among the four member nations, meaning the event lacks a permanent home. This arrangement contrasts with the Viking Cup, a broader European competition that includes non-Nordic participants such as Austria and France. While the Viking Cup often takes place in Sweden, the Nordic T20 Cup remains strictly limited to the four Nordic countries. As an invitational regional cup, it does not employ a formal promotion or relegation system typical of league pyramids. Denmark holds the most recent titles following successes in 2023 and 2025, while Norway won the intermediate 2024 edition. The competition provides a structured environment for these nations to develop their cricketing standards without the pressure of international qualification pathways.
