Senior Women's T20 Challenger Trophy (India) 2022/23

The Senior Women's T20 Challenger Trophy is a domestic cricket tournament in India organized by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). It functions as a developmental tier within the national domestic pyramid, distinct from the senior state-based Championship. Rather than featuring regional associations, the competition utilises composite national representative teams, currently including India B Women, India A Women, India Women 'C', and India Women D. This structure serves as a critical assessment and preparation platform for the national side, allowing selectors to evaluate players in a high-pressure environment distinct from regular state fixtures.

The tournament operates on a round-robin group stage format, where the top two sides advance to a final. While the current season features five teams, the participation levels have varied historically; earlier editions employed three teams in a Blue, Green, and Red configuration or four teams labelled A, B, C, and D. The scheduling has also seen irregularities, with some years witnessing gaps in the T20 itinerary or shifts to List-A formats. The inaugural edition was held in August 2018, although predecessor Challenger tournaments existed prior to this date.

Success in the competition has been distributed among various squads. India Blue claimed the title in the 2018 edition, followed by India C in the 2019–20 season and India D in the 2022–23 campaign. India E secured the most recent victory in the 2024–25 season. The event remains strictly focused on domestic player development and national team selection, setting it apart from exhibition tournaments that incorporate franchise-style teams and international players.
