Serbia tour of Slovenia 2024/25

The inaugural Adria T20I Series marked the first bilateral cricket contest between the Serbia national cricket team and the Slovenia national cricket team. Held in June 2024, the fixture series comprised three T20 International (T20I) matches at the Valburga Cricket Ground in Ljubljana. The matches were approved by the International Cricket Council (ICC), meaning results counted toward official rankings.

Slovenia secured the opening encounter by 43 runs. While the 2024 series was a single event, the two nations have continued to play against each other in subsequent T20I matches, with Serbia winning four of those specific contests to Slovenia’s two. This broader context includes previous meetings such as the Eastern Europe Cup.

Each side operates under a separate national governing body established in the mid-2000s. The Cricket Federation of Serbia (KFS) gained ICC Associate Member status in 2017, while the Slovenian Cricket Association (SCA) achieved the same recognition the following year. Domestic structures remain distinct and separate. Serbia’s domestic hierarchy features a First League and a Second League, primarily utilising 40-over and T20 formats. Stari Grad CC in Belgrade stands as the most successful club in Serbian history, having claimed the inaugural 2009 40-over championship. Slovenia’s national league usually hosts between four and six teams playing 40-over cricket before knockout stages. Mežica Cricket Club holds the distinction of winning the first two national championships. A unique aspect of Slovenian cricket involves Ljubljana Cricket Club competing in the Austrian domestic league alongside its local commitments.

Both nations participate in lower tiers of the ICC Europe structure, specifically within the European Cricket Championship qualifiers and the Dream11 European Cricket Championship. There is no unified regional domestic competition; the cricketing environments remain strictly national in scope and operation.
