TG20 (India) 2026/27

The TG20 League operates as a parallel cricket structure in Telangana, distinct from the state's official Telangana State Premier League (TSSL). While the TSSL is organized by the Telangana Cricket Association (TCA), the TG20 is managed by the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA). This administrative split prevents any promotion or relegation between the two competitions, with the TSSL following a group-stage format and the TG20 utilising a single round-robin league stage followed by an IPL-style playoff system. The league launched in 2026 as a revival of the discontinued Telangana T20 League. It currently features eight regional franchise teams, including the Hyderabad E-Champions and the Anurag Nalgonda Knights. The inaugural season concluded with the Hyderabad E-Champions defeating the Anvita Khammam Aces in the final. The tournament maintains its own broadcasting rights through Star Sports and JioHotstar. Due to the adversarial relationship between the HCA and the TCA, the two leagues function independently without regulatory overlap. The TG20 is not sanctioned by the TCA, which has raised concerns regarding financial oversight. The competition serves as a professional platform for local talent within the region, operating alongside the established TSSL since its inception in 2018.
