About

The The Hundred Women's Competition operates as a professional franchise cricket tournament in England, launched by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in 2021. It functions as a top-tier limited-overs competition, sitting parallel to the traditional county structure and the regional Charlotte Edwards Cup, which concluded in 2024. Unlike the previous Women's Cricket Super League (WCSL), this format utilizes a city-based franchise model rather than county or regional affiliation.

The season features eight teams, including the Birmingham Phoenix (Women), London Spirit (Women), and Oval Invincibles (Women). Each team plays eight matches in a round-robin league stage, split between four home and four away games. The structure is designed for brevity, with each side facing 100 balls per innings, a format intended to last approximately two and a half hours. Rules include five-ball overs and alternating bowlers every 10 balls.

Qualification for the championship match follows a specific path. The highest-ranked team in the league table advances directly to the final. The second and third-placed teams contest an Eliminator (semi-final) to determine the second finalist. There is no promotion or relegation within this tier; participation is governed by ECB franchise agreements, which currently extend until at least 2029.

A distinctive feature of the competition is the integration of men's and women's matches as double-headers at the same venues. Historically, the Oval Invincibles hold the record for most titles with two wins, securing victories in 2021 and 2022. The current champions, however, are the Trent Rockets (Women), who claimed the 2026 edition.
