TNPL (India) 2022/23

The Tamil Nadu Premier League is a professional Twenty20 cricket league based in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Founded in 2016, the competition is organized by the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA). It operates as a franchise-based league under BCCI approval, distinct from official state association teams like those in the Ranji Trophy.

The tournament features eight city-based franchises. Alongside IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans and Chepauk Super Gillies, the grid includes Salem Spartans, Ruby Trichy Warriors, Nellai Royal Kings, and Lyca Kovai Kings. The competition structure involves a single league stage where each team plays every opponent once, followed by playoffs for the top four sides. There is no promotion or relegation; teams are retained through franchise rights managed by the association.

Chepauk Super Gillies holds the record for the most titles, winning four championships in 2017, 2019, 2021, and sharing the 2022 crown. Individual milestones highlight N Jagadeesan as the highest run-scorer and R Sai Kishore as the leading wicket-taker. The league serves as a developmental platform for players aiming for the Tamil Nadu state team in BCCI competitions.
