About

The Top End T20 Series is an invitational cricket tournament held annually in Darwin. It operates outside the traditional domestic pyramid, serving as a high-performance platform for international sides and a pre-season warm-up for local franchises.

Founded in 2022 by Northern Territory Cricket, the event is sanctioned by Cricket Australia. The format consists of a single round-robin league where each team plays six matches, followed by a knockout stage comprising two semi-finals and a Grand Final. The top four teams from the league table advance to the finals. There is no promotion or relegation.

The tournament typically features 9 to 11 teams, including the host Northern Territory Strike, BBL academy teams, and international representatives. In 2025, the field included Adelaide Strikers Academy, Australian Capital Territory, Bangladesh A, Chicago Kingsmen, Hobart Hurricanes Academy, and Melbourne Renegades Academy.

Recent winners include Perth Scorchers Academy (2025), Adelaide Strikers Academy (2024), Northern Territory Strike (2023), and Cricket Australia XI (2022). Notable records include Jack Wood's unbeaten 101 for NT Strike in the 2023 final and Baxter Holt's 114* for Perth Scorchers Academy in the 2025 final.
